Itty Bitty Story Time

Itty Bitty Story time is designed for our youngest patrons: birth to 3 years old. This program includes stories, songs, musical instruments, and a whole lot more to keep the little ones engaged and entertained!  This program is a great way to introduce the young child in your life to the library.

Itty Bitty Story time takes place on Tuesday morning’s beginning on September 12th from 9:45 to 10:15.  Join us for a lot of fun!!  No registration is required.

Book Clubs

Ages 6-9 Book Club

Our next book will be September Sneakers by Ron Roy. . We will meet on Tuesday, September 26th at 5pm.

Ages 8-12 Book Club

The next book will be The One and Only Ivan by K.A. Applegate. .  We will meet for a book talk and refreshments on Thursday, September 21st at 5pm.

Beginning Bridges & Taft Library Collaboration

The Taft Library is thrilled to begin a new partnership with Beginning Bridges CFCE. Beginning Bridges CFCE supports parents as their children’s first, best and most important teachers in the communities of Mendon, Upton, Northbridge and Uxbridge.  They are a non-profit, family supported organization that provides FREE comprehensive services.

Throughout the year we will be working with Beginning Bridges CFCE to develop new programs for our young patrons.

September’s Activities:

Wednesday, September 13th 10:30-11:30am: Bubbles

Wednesday, September 20th 10:30-11:30am: Ramps

Each of these programs will consist of hands on activities, circle time, motor skills, and much more. Registration is required and space is limited. Contact the library to register.

Girl Power Go Programs

Girl Power is the brain child of Girl Power Go, LLC. Owner, Erin Mahoney. Erin’s vision was to create a program that encouraged young girls to feel strong and empowered, self-confident and independent, healthy and beautiful!   After a great introduction to Girl Power in the spring, the Taft Library is thrilled to team up with Erin to offer two different classes this fall.

Girl Power is an 8-week program designed for grades 1-4. The program combines age-appropriate fitness and life skills with confidence building exercises that are fun and thought provoking. This class features: weekly exercise segments including obstacle courses, kick-boxing and yoga; fun, empowering activities; teamwork segments, self-worth lessons and discussions, motivation tools & skills that will last long after the class ends!

Dates: October 2, 16, 23, 30, November 6, 13, 20 and 27                    Time: 4:30 – 5:30pm

The cost for the program is $110. Once you have register at the library you will get a code for a $14 library discount. Space is limited.

Girl Power Go for Middle School (grades 5-8): Be Prepared, Be Excited, Be YOU!  Middle School can be a both an exciting and scary experience. Girl Power Go, LLC. has created a class specifically for girls entering and currently attending middle school. This class helps girls find their inner “Power” by developing life skills that will help them to make good decisions, make good friends, deal with peer pressure, learn how to stay safe while social networking, learn how to make healthy food choices and much more! Girls will connect and share their excitement, fears and experiences so that they can learn from and support each other. Each class will cover a specific topic and includes a fitness component. Combining the two promotes a healthy lifestyle! Find YOUR “Power” in Middle School.

6 Dates: Fall Session – October 2, 16, 23, 30, November 6th and 13      Time: 5:45 – 6:45pm
